Frescobaldi Keyboard Works - Complete Collection for Pianists & Musicians

I first got acquainted with Frescobaldi's music in college - the musicologist at our university was something of a Frescobaldi nut. I think he even edited the Frescobaldi edition for JAMS (ie: Journal of the American Musicological Society).Back in those days I had a Bach Guild LP called "The Art of Frescobaldi" with Gustav Leonhardt, which was recorded around 1958 (and has been released on CD by Vanguard and later, Artemis Records). I played the thing to death through college. The LP went missing from my collection, and my encounters with Frescobaldi's music became rather infrequent.In any case, this 12-CD set provides ALL of Frescoballdi's keyboard music. It's great to get reacquainted with this inventive and satisfying music once again. Granted, I'm making my way through the box slowly to better savor each disc. There hasn't been a dud yet.Recommended.
